The battery powers the machine, which is a common phenomenon since the electrical age. A camera can‘t work without the battery. But photographers always suffer such problems such as the prepared battery is insufficient or the battery is aging and it is difficult to support all the work.
Then, a dummy battery was created.
What is dummy battery?
Dummy battery is not a real battery, it is just an electrical conductor. Camera’s dummy battery looks like the real battery because it must adapt to the camera's battery cabin.
Install the dummy battery and connect it to an external power module it can stable and continue to power the camera device.
How to choose a dummy battery?
Like different camera has a different battery, it also has a different dummy battery for the camera.
If you want to buy a dummy battery, you must know the model of your camera battery. It always shows on the bottom of the real battery. Then you can buy the dummy battery according to the model.

Step:
1. Keep the camera power off.
2. Open the door of the battery cabin, insert the dummy adapter in the cabin. The connector on dummy adapter should match the same direction of the battery cabin.
3. Sort out the cable from the small holes(every camera has this hole near the battery cabin) then lock the cabin door.
4. Connect to the power device. HDRiG provides the dummy battery with 5.5mm/2.1mm DC barrels, so it can use with the V mount/Gold mount Power Supply Splitter. You also can connect it to the camera monitor DC Output then with the help of dummy battery the battery on the monitor can power monitor itself as well as the camera.
Note: The power supply voltage must be 7.2-8.4V.
